This story is designed to celebrate the pet/owner relationship, and to mourn the passing of a beloved companion. It is designed to weave together an intricately layered tale of love. Diem recalls the earlier days of being a family and encountering various health problems, from Kelly being att acked by a pitbull to the devastating diagnosis of Kassy's diabetes. Readers can feel her sadness as she describes Kassy's declining health. It expresses raw emotions that could endear the text. It articulates well the heartbreaking decision of putting a pet to sleep. In closing, she eulogizes Kassy and eventually Kelly and the unconditional love they bring. It would be of interest to pet owners, and a comfort to those who lost a beloved animal. It's a sweet tribute to Two Awesome Dogs.
This the second installment in a poetry anthology by A.M. Arndt, the first was The Younger Years: Behind Closed Doors.
